  About the Society
Egyptian Society of Internal Medicine (ESIM )is a non-profit organization . It is established in 1982 . It is a branch from the mother society : The Egyptian Medical Society . The society has an active scientific body . It pushes the Journal since 1989. It is now in its 29 th year of publication . The society arranges monthly one day scientific meeting ,each addresses an important and updated medical subject. Many workshops were arranged during these meetings for theoretical and practical education for medical doctors in addition to round table discussions in the different hot points of Internal medicine .The society is concerned with continued medical education programme . The society share other societies of Internal Medicine in their international conferences , the last was that of Italian society of Internal medicine in November 2018 as a representative to the Mediterranean area as a part of its scientific activitiy. These congresses have seen the academicians of international repute , across the world , interact with their active partipication in the society.The society has its own annual conference in the different fields of Internal medicine . In January 2012, the society delegated the ministry of scientific research (ENSTINET) to publish the journal through international publisher “wolters-kluwer/MedKnow through Ovid.ISSN-Print 1110-7782 online-2090-9098 . Starting from 2014 the journal is an open access journal with Medknow.
  About the Journal

The Egyptian Journal of Internal Medicine, (EJIM), is a peer-reviewed online journal  Quarterly published. ISSN-Print 1110-7782 online-2090-9098

The journal will cover technical and clinical studies related to health, ethical and social issues in field of Internal Medicine. Through different sections (review articles,originalarticles,letter to the editor,case reports )

Articles with clinical interest and implications will be given preference.

The journal’s full text is available online at http://www.esim.eg.net. The journal allows

free access (Open Access) to its contents and permits authors to self-archive final accepted version of the articles on any OAI-compliant institutional / subject-based repository.

The Journal encourages bringing together academicians and clinicians to be a part of this initiative by contributing, reviewing and thus promoting scientific works and science

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.


While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.
